Practical Tips for Family Travel in Stockholm During Winter
Getting Around
Public Transportation: Stockholm’s public transport is top-notch – efficient, clean, and a breeze.
They had so much fun climbing the “mountain,” jumping on tree stumps, and exploring the little “lake.” The exhibit is designed to bring nature indoors, with sounds like ants crawling, rain hitting an anthill, and even frozen ground crunching in winter. These materials trap heat and wick moisture away from the body, keeping you nice and toasty.
You can get in for free, bring your own skates, or rent some there.
🚙 Renting a Car
I recommendDiscover Cars because they always have the best rates and great customer service.
🎡 Plan tours and activities
Viator is an excellent place to start looking for activities. I utkanten av Stockholm finns även Mulle Meck-parken som ligger i Järvastaden i Solna och Lassemaja-parken i Skogås.
They have a limited number of Ski Passes for sale daily.
Take your family to the Sigtuna Christmas Market for a day. Barnattraktioner och museer är fulla av aktiviteter och utställningar, särskilt anpassade för barn. Most places accept card payments, so there’s no need to worry about carrying a lot of cash with you.
This also means you won’t have to worry about exchanging currency before your trip or getting stuck with foreign coins and bills.
Just inform your bank beforehand to avoid any issues with your cards abroad.
Family-Friendly Food Halls in Stockholm
When you find yourself hungry in Stockholm, you’ll be glad to know that many eateries are well-prepared to accommodate families.
En av de som nyligen fått en ansiktslyft är Tessinparken som är byggd som en liten stad. My kids had a blast here!

Wisdome Stockholm While we didn’t get to explore Wisdome Stockholm on our visit (it was closed), it’s an exciting space that focuses on science and space.
